Safaricom has made it easy for people to transact on Mpesa through Mpesa Paybill and Till number services, Clients are now able to pay for utility bills,send and withdraw funds from their bank accounts all from the comfort of their Mpesa Menu. In order to complete these transactions,you will attract some charges for facilitating the Safaricom  Mpesa Pay-bill  payments. The amount charged will depend on the amount of money being transacted. Safaricom has cut its transaction costs by 50%  of its initial charges as from 1st January 2023. 

Here is a tabular display of the Transaction charges as from 1st January 2023.

From the updated tariffs list, all transactions below 100 shillings are still free of charge just as before.

Mpesa to business tariff charges

This applies when you are making payments from your Mpesa account to an Organizations/business Paybill Number. For this kind of transactions,the customer incurs all the transaction charges when making the payment. i.e when paying for bills e.g DSTV, KPLC e.t.c

Paybill Transactions of between 101-1000 kshs attract a fee of ksh 4, and The maximum cap of between 70,000 to ksh 150,000 attracts a Fee of ksh 105. 

Business to Mpesa transactions (B2C)

Business to Mpesa ,otherwise known as B2C transactions charges have also been slashed, Mpesa Business accounts will incur a minimumcharge of kes 5 and maximum charge of kes 12 for transactions between kes 101  to 150,000 Respectively.
